GastricSleeve surgery for weight loss is a relatively new surgical procedure used to
help patients lose a large amount of weight. It's also called a
gastric gastrectomy, and is used remove a portion of a person's
stomach to help them shrink their stomach and thus lose weight.
This weight loss procedure reduces the size of the stomach by using non-absorbable surgical sutures. This additional surgery, Gastric Bypass or duodenal SwitchSurgery, is carried out after at least six months after the first surgery.
